My flute. My faithful companion for many many years, since I was eight, and tall enough to hold it. I cannot tell you how many times I have thrown it down in frustration trying to perfect difficult passages, or how many moments of pure joy it's shared with me while creating music. How it became an extension of my fingers and imagination - you cannot spend thousands of hours together and not become one.
It was the thing I was best at. Known for. Some of my favourite memories are of concerts and bands and solos and gigs and Irish music and dreamy soundscapes. I dreamt of being a soloist. Only once I finished music studies at uni I had no idea how to actually pursue that, and being somewhat of an introvert, I never knew how to ask. So now, on another side of my life, where I get to make my own music, it finds its way into my compositions. Its music is still so deep in me, and I love finding a new life and expression for it.
Anytime I have a chance to record some music, it always makes me wonder...
You'll find flute driven tracks on both my albums :)
